We are reaching out today with important news regarding Synth Riders on the Oculus Rift platform.

After careful consideration and evaluation, we have made the difficult decision to sunset further development of Synth Riders on the Oculus Rift Store, effective September 18th, 2023.

First and foremost, we want to thank you for playing Synth Riders, and assure you that the game will remain playable on the Oculus Rift platform, along with all previously purchased DLC. Your immersive journey will continue without interruption. However, it’s important to note that the Oculus Rift store version of the game will not receive new DLC or future updates after this date.

Synth Riders will continue to be updated on SteamVR, which is compatible with Rift headsets. If you have purchased Synth Riders on the Oculus Rift Store before September 18th and would like to continue playing via Steam, please send us an email to [email protected] with your proof-of-purchase.

Why is the development of the Oculus Rift Store version ending?

With VR technology progressing so rapidly, it becomes more difficult to maintain feature parity between previous, current, and future generations of VR platforms. We want to concentrate our development effort on platforms that observe wide interest from the VR players community. Oculus Rift and other PCVR headsets are still our priority and will continue to receive updates on Steam VR.

Can I still access Synth Riders on the Oculus Rift Store?

Yes. If you previously purchased Synth Riders on the Rift Store, you will still be able to download and play it along with all DLC that you own. Keep in mind that the Rift Store version will not receive future updates or DLC, and the multiplayer will no longer offer cross-play functionality.

That’s why it’s highly recommended that you switch to the SteamVR or Meta Quest versions of the game. 

Can I continue to play the most up-to-date version of the game with future updates?

The exciting news is yes, you can! Synth Riders will continue to be updated on SteamVR, which is compatible with Oculus Rift headsets. If you purchased Synth Riders on the Oculus Rift Store before September 18, 2023 and would like to continue playing via Steam, please send us an email to [email protected] with your proof-of-purchase.

If your purchase was made prior to September 18, 2023 you will still have access to and be able to play Synth Riders on the Meta Quest 2, 3, and Pro headsets at no additional charge thanks to cross-buy functionality.

What counts as a proof-of-purchase?

Proof-of-purchase requirements are a valid receipt of the Synth Riders game from the Oculus Rift Store accompanied by proof of Rift headset ownership.

• Only purchases made before September 18th, 2023 will be honored.
• You must submit your request by October 18th, 2023.

Can I receive previously purchased DLC on Steam, too?

Yes! Please include proof-of-purchase of any add-on items that you bought on the Oculus Rift Store in your email.

Will refunds be offered?

We are not able to offer refunds apart from the standard store policy.

For paid apps on Meta Quest and Oculus Rift Store, you may be eligible for a refund if you used the app for less than two hours and you’ve requested a refund less than 14 days after purchase. See the official Content Refund Policy for more information.
